Hi, I'm a new grass user and I need some advice. I'm working with
GOES data and I want to be able to view this data in grass. I'm very
uncertain as to where to begin. I've used grass to view DEMs and
I've successfully imported DLGs to grass.
My problems are such. I do know how to navigate the satellite data to
put it into lat lon's. I know the pixel size on the earth. What I
need is a suggestion as to what method to bring in this data. I could
try i.tape.other but that would to me seem to lose most of the
navigation information I have and just put it on some xy plane. I
thought I would do a r.in.ascii, but again, I'm not sure where
navigation comes in. What about s.in.ascii. I could make a long list
of each pixel's location and then import them.
Is there a detailed manual on images? If so where can I find it? Has
this been done before? I saw the i.in.erdas, is there a i.in.other of
some type?
Thanks in advance
Thoroughly confused,
mSh
