r.le modules in LINUX

Hello,

     I have been running grass on LINUX for some time now, and have just
begun experimenting with the r.le modules.  I have encountered a bug in the
r.le.patch module which seems to be specific to my compiled version (i.e. it
does not appear when running the module on a UNIX machine).  The bug causes
segmentation faults when working with anything but very small maps.
     I do not have a C compiler, so I cannot debug the program myself.  Has
anyone else successfully compiled r.le.patch for LINUX?
     Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
