PCI/Pentium linux

[Grass 4.1]

Hello,

Is anyone currently running linux grass on a PCI/Pentium
platform?  

If you are, I would appreciate hearing from you, either 
personally or via the list.  I need to set up linux and 
grass on a Pentium machine with PCI architecture.  We have
not purchased a specific machine yet, I would like some 
feedback on what works.  I am aware of the linux howtos and
other documents on hardware compatibility and PCI compatibility
but I am looking for the wisdom of some personal experiences.
