GRASS and DEC-Alpha

Hi,

running GRASS on a DEC-Alpha is much better with the patches
form 
  ftp://ftp.regis.berkeley.edu/pub/grass/grass-alpha-axp-0.6

Did anyone of you use the ppm - Driver to generate Map
outputs with p.map or p.map.new ? 
That didn't work, I'm still looking for the bug.
