v.support Segmentation fault in solaris 2.5

  One of our installations using GRASS 4.1 update 5 on
 solaris 2.5 is having problems finishing data
 tasks because of a Segmentation fault from v.support
 
 The v.support is issued to a file that has underwent
 the following steps:

  v.digit (input)
  v.support
  v.to.rast
  r.reclass
  r.poly
  d.vect
  v.support  <-  yields segmentation fault, writes core file

   Are there any possible faults that may be in the data that
 would cause the Seg. fault that we should resolve before running
 v.support ?  Is this a known bug for GRASS in Solaris, and are
 there any work-arounds or solutions that have been offered ?
