ArcInfo->GRASS ?

I'm trying to bring ArcInfo line files into GRASS.  They are line coverages
in ungenerate, and the geometry comes in fine, but if I try to include
a label file to attach attribute information, v.in.arc always sees only
one column.  (It reports the correct number of records.)

I know I've seen this before and can't remember where.  Can anyone
help?
