Pete,
Yes, I have GRASS running on AIX 3.2.  99% of the source codes compiled fine.
Some of them need modification, but I don't remember where.  If you have
trouble compiling it on AIX 3.2, e-mail me a list of the failed commands and
I can send you the instruction of fixes.
