query longitude,latitute ?

Dear all:

    Is there possible to query (long., lat.) coordinate for a mapset
in grass 4.1 (Linux version)? It seemed only (x,y) coordinate be given
by using d.what.vect or d.what.rast. If it is not, perhaps someone can
offer an algorithm or C-source to help me.
