MapInfo .mif / .mid to GRASS vector files

Hello,

Following on from the GRASS to shape, and GRASS to mif / mid conversion
thread.......

My next little project is to convert .mif / .mid to GRASS ASCII vector format
preserving one attribute field (in my case contour elevation). I'll keep the
list informed of progress - however if anybody has done this before could you
drop me a note.
