TIFF 24 bit ?

Hi GRASS community,

 someone was asking for r.in.tiff.

 In the new GRASS 4.2.1 at
 www.laum.uni-hannover.de/iln/grass/grass42/

 you find a 8bit version.

 Once there was a 24 bit version somewhere (in KANG's Linux 
 binaries for example). 

 Who can send me the source code - so I can integrate it into
 the package?
