Grass 5 and Grass 4.2

Hello,
I read that the version 5 of Grass will be released this late summer.
I want to know if there's some collaboration with  the V5 team, and
the maintainers of the V 4.2 (mainly Linux oriented and with a rapid
evolution   [Great job !]),
What would be the compatibility between the two version ?
