Lockfile Problem

Hello GRASS Community,

I just ran the installation script for the new beta3 version and I now
can't get into any of my versions of grass in my grass user account.
The error is as follows:

/usr/local/grass-5.0b/etc/lock: can't write lockfile
/home/grass/.gislock5
> Unable to properly access /home/grass/.gislock5
> Please notify system personel.

I am running 4.2 and 5beta2 on a RH6.0 PC. I can get to all versions as
root user but not as user grass. I would appreciate any suggestions on
fixing this problem.
