you need to create file for ps.select here:
etc/paint/ps.devices/

Example (a0 size): 
etc/paint/ps.devices/a0

Contents:
----- cut here--------
level: 2
page width: 33.07
page height: 46.77
top margin: 0.5
bottom margin: 0.5
left margin: 0.25
right margin: 0.25
resolution: 300
----- cut here--------

That's all. Then use ps.select to select and ps.map
afterwards.
