Hello beta9 users,

we have to apologize! The problem of GRASS 5.0beta9 not installing
properly is a overseen missing change in install script. We
missed to update the section which generates the startup script
(as we added new features to this script).

What you can do:
 - don't delete the binary package
 - wait until we post the corrected grass5install.sh script
(hope this will be done in a few hours)
 - reinstall again with new install script then

We are very sorry for this overseen bug. This indicates we
need more voluntary testers who are willing to install a new
version before we publish it. Those testers don't need to know
much about systems, they should be "average users" (as those mostly
find remaining problems).

We'll post a message if the new install script is available.
I think there will be no need to download the binary packages
again.

Kind regards

 Markus Neteler
