river profile & hypsometry

Hi,
Is there any otpion to produce river profiles in GRASS5? I have rivers in
vector and raster files. I am thinking to use r.mapcalc to produce
ASCI x,y data and plot profile in some other package. But I am interested
in to do that in GRASS.
I am also interested in ploting hypsometric curve for particular
watersheds in GRASS. Does anybody has any experience with that field?
