When I look at the files in the mapset's cell/ directory, this is what I
see:

[rshepard at salmo coeur]$ ls -l cell
total 3472
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 208407 Aug 4 16:31 buena_dem
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 191083 Aug 4 16:34 cornpeak_dem
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 0 Aug 3 10:22 dem3
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 0 Aug 4 16:36 reservoir_dem
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 3141271 Aug 3 10:12 right_dem
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 0 Aug 3 10:19 rye_dem
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 0 Aug 4 16:46 starranch_dem
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 0 Aug 4 17:28 temp2_dem
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 0 Aug 3 10:48 temp_dem
-rw-r--r-- 1 rshepard rshepard 0 Aug 4 16:54 wildhorse_dem

But, I can display those maps that have 0 bytes. Why? What's going on
here?

Thanks,

Rich
