[GRASSLIST:2290] Importing IKONOS GeoTIFF File

Dear GRASS users;

Has anyone tried to import IKONOS GeoTIFF-format image files to GRASS ?

r.in.tiff command manual says "the command accepts 8 or 24 bit Tiff
files", but I don't know if the command accepts 16 bit GeoTIFF files also.

I'll appreciate any information on importing IKONOS image files to GRASS.
