[GRASSLIST:2093] Export a raster to .ecw?

Hi all,

I have been georeferencing some gray scale topo maps then exporting them
out to a TIFF with r.out.tiff (with a world file) then rebooting into
Windows and then using the ER Mapper free ECW Compression utility on the
tiff file.  Does anyone know if this utility exists for linux?  Or
better yet has anyone written a shell script or something to export a
raster and compress it all in one step?
