[GRASSLIST:1928] d.mon error

Dear GRASS wizards,
Please help me with a problem.

I am trying to start GRASS 5.0.0pre1 (binary download) on Windows 2000 
(Cygwin/XFree86).
When I tried to start a monitor for the first time, I got this:

GRASS:/home/Didi/grassdata > d.mon start=x0
using default visual which is TrueColor
ncolors: 32768
Graphics driver [x0] started
    0 [main] x0 1480 open_stackdumpfile: Dumping stack trace to
XDRIVER.exe.stackdump
ERROR - eof from graphics monitor.

Any suggestions how to overcome this problem will be most appreciated.
