[GRASSLIST:2647] grid 3d question

I have got more of a general grid 3d question...
I am looking to be able to "animate" an ascii file in the format of
xyzt. Eventually, I am looking to move this over to Vis5d, however, at
this time, I am starting to see what it might look like using GRASS,
being as grass is more user friendly than Vis5d. I have dowloaded part
of the Grid 3d modules, and am trying to play with them, though I am
getting error messages everywhere...etc etc. Does someone have a
suggestion on the import and use of xyzt files??
Note, my programming abilities are fairly limited. I have just started
using Perl to get the data in the format I need to...so any helpful
suggestions on that as well would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
