[GRASSLIST:2712] tar fails for grass5.0.0pre2 on Solaris 2.7

Hello, greetings to everyone! I am new to GRASS and to the GRASS mailing
list. I am trying to compile the 5.0.0PRE2 release from source on a SUN
Ultra 5 running Solaris 2.7. However, I get a checksum error in tar xvf.
This is quite weird since the tar tvf reports no such probem.

Can anyone please help me.
