Ivan,

  Here's my /usr/lib/libncurses* listing:

[rshepard at salmo rshepard]$ ls -l /usr/lib/libncurses*
-rw-r--r--   1 root     root       381490 Sep 23  1999 /usr/lib/libncurses.a
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     root           15 Nov 21  1999 /usr/lib/libncurses.so -> libncurses.so.4*
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     root           17 Jan 30  2001 /usr/lib/libncurses.so.4 -> libncurses.so.4.0*
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root     root       263224 Oct 10  2000 /usr/lib/libncurses.so.4.0*
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     root           17 Feb 19  2001 /usr/lib/libncurses.so.5 -> libncurses.so.4.0*
-rw-r--r--   1 root     root      3435450 Sep 23  1999 /usr/lib/libncurses_g.a
-rw-r--r--   1 root     root       402140 Sep 23  1999 /usr/lib/libncurses_p.a

  Although I have downloaded ncurses-5.2 I haven't yet installed it. I made
a symbolic link between /usr/lib/libncurses.so.4.0 and libncurses.so.5 and
GRASS is very happy.

HTH,

Rich
