Well,
I finally have resolved the issue, at least from what I can tell.  There
must have been something corrupted somewhere in my old locations file,
as I created a duplicte location directory, same parameters (did change
from NAD83 to NAD27), and got different, more typical results.  I rean
r.fillnulls and it worked.  I am right now attempting r.surf.rst, but it
is running slow.  I am still going to do a little "testing" on my old
locations directory to see if I can track down the problem...not sure
what, when, and where the problem is...but will relay my results if I
can find any...Thanks for the help that you have both provided...
