[GRASSLIST:2981] question

This is a somewhat unrelated question, but with relevance to GRASS. I
am looking to create a shell script to automate several steps I have to
take to get data into GRASS. I have a majority of it done, but am
stumped on one thing, and my scripting experience is extremely limited.
Description of what I want to do:
I want to call g.region and change the resolution to a specified number
(i.e. go from 00:01:00 to 00:00:12). What I am doing is creating a
sites file from a txt file, then making a raster from the sites file at
one resolution (the 00:01:00), then changing the resolution to the finer
(00:00:12), and running r.neighbors. I can do this with two shell
scripts, and manually change the resolution, however, I would love to
make one script, and be able to let it run....
thanks, just a question is all, since I know there are some great
programmers out there!! Cheers
