The source code I tried to install was from the Leicester 'Assist' site
with additional GRASS code. The install failed on gmake5 with the message
that 51grid_rec.c has a macro failure on lines 185 and 214 due to only 2
arguments being provided to strncpy.

I'm not familiar with CVS, but tried downloading the gzipped tarball from
the 'Attic' directory for m.in.ntf, but when I issue 'tar -xvf Attic.tar'
it replies 'tar: Record size = 2 blocks' and no extraction occurs. The
filesize also looks suspiciously small at only 1024 Kb.

Perhaps I need to try and install ogr2ogr from somewhere, as suggested by
Frank Warmerdam, but maybe even easier is to give up on NTF and try a dxf
route.
