Hi all. The following configure worked for me under Mandrake 8.2:
CFLAGS="-O3 -mcpu=pentiumpro -Wall" LDFLAGS="-s" ./configure --with-dbm
--with-dbm-includes=/usr/include/gdbm --with-dbm-libs=/usr/lib
--with-postgres --with-postgres-includes='/usr/include/pgsql
/usr/include/pgsql/server' --with-postgres-libs=/usr/lib/pgsql --with-opengl
--with-opengl-includes=/usr/X11R6/include/GL
--with-opengl-libs=/usr/X11R6/lib --with-fftw
--with-fftw-includes=/usr/include --with-fftw-libs=/usr/lib --with-freetype
--with-freetype-includes='/usr/include /usr/include/freetype
/usr/include/freetype2' --with-freetype-libs='/usr/X11R6/lib /usr/lib'
--with-gdal='/usr/local/bin /usr/local/include /usr/local/lib' --with-nls
The error log file said an error was found and ignored on "locale" (local
language configuration??). Nevertheless, Grass seems to work fine.
I tried to compile grass including all the available modules. Lapack and
Blas didn't get configured despite they were already installed under 8.2.
I even compiled some modules I don't know what they are intended for
(e.g. nls; glw wasn't detected).
All requested libraries were available in the mandrake 8.2 distro CDs.
Fortunately, mandrake 8.2 comes with a software manager that makes
it very easy to maintain/upgrade.
On the other hand, r.in.gdal (I downloaded and installed gdal 1.1.7)
doesn't import tiff/tfw files using the right coordinates. It keeps
getting rows, cols instead of UTM coordinates, while r.in.tiff works
fine for the same image data.
Regards,
John
