Martin,
	I have done several batch programs to help with the input of data into
GRASS.  The writing of these scripts is not overly difficult, but it can
get confusing at times.  I would be happy to send you a snip-it of my
script to help you get started with it. 
	Earlier, I had to import up to 200 xyz files and create rasters out of
them, and wrote a script that would read a directory, and perform
s.in.ascii and s.surf.idw.  It worked without a hitch.  I will send it
tomorrow morning if you would like, when I get back into work.
