[GRASSLIST:4427] i.cluster and cloud labelling

Hi all grass users,

I'm trying to do cloud screening on AVHRR data based
on the paper by James J. Simpson (Improved Cloud
Detection for Daytime AVHRR Scenes over Land, Rem.
Sensing Env. 55).
Is anybody familiar with this paper? I'm having the
worst time trying to figure out how to implement it.

Also, on his paper he uses a clustering method called
split and merge clustering where the clusters can be
merged depending on a predefined threshold but also.
Is that the same thing as using i.cluster and setting
the merge option?

Any help would be greattly apreciated
