[GRASSLIST:951] p.icons/d.icons query

I am trying to figure something out with p.icons and displaying with 
d.icons... is it possible to rotate the icon around the center point or 
not?  It appears no from reading the command description.. but was 
wondering if anyone out there might have done something to help this 
along...

And, just to make sure that I am not trying to reinvent the wheel... has 
anyone ever used this for meteorological data display, more 
specifically, wind barbs?
