[GRASSLIST:1776] r.average

Hi,
I have a problem with r.average on GRASS 5.0.2 (OS: Linux Red Hat 9).
If I write:

> r.average base=map1 cover=map2 output=map3

The command works well but the console shows the following
message:

> WARNING: r.stats: cats for map2 are either missing or have no
> explicit labels. Using nsteps=255.

¿How can I solve this problem?
