[GRASSLIST:1785] batch image processor recommendations

I have a large number of tifs that were scanned at a fairly high 
resolution (400-600 dpi). Each image is around 250 megabytes in size. 
I'd like to hear recommendations for processing them all (en mass) to a 
more reasonable resolution/size.
