[GRASSLIST:1902] invalid reclass rule?

I am trying to do a rather simple reclassification of a stream layer, 
using stream codes as a unique index between the map and the postgresql 
table, but get the following:

GRASS:~ > v.reclass.pg -d streams key=segment_ta col=stream_ord 
tab=stream_d where='stream_ord>3' output=big_streams type=line

ERROR: 1706010416A0001000.00=5
        - invalid reclass rule

'segment_ta' is the column in the table corresponding to the values in 
the map layer, and stream_ord is the column that I'm using for the 
reclassification. This seems correct. I dont know what this error 
means, so I'm hoping someone out there can clarify this for me.

Using GRASS 5.0.2.
