[GRASSLIST:1312] problems with tcltkgrass and commands

When I type "tcltkgrass&" or "tcltkgrass"   I get "exec: wish: not found"

When I type g.list  I get "clear: not found"

I saw previous post  about needing to have /usr/bin/wish directory but 
after untarring xtcltk* file from a number of "root" directories I do 
not get this directory.

Any ideas?
