[GRASSLIST:4062] Re: how to create GUI in grass5.7

This discussion is a bit baffling. What version do you have?

The current version of GRASS 5.7 normally opens with the display
manager (command d.m) active, and a complete TclTk menu system for all
GRASS commands.

If you have a current version and have somehow turned off the GUI, you
can restart it as Didit describes below or by starting with grass57
-tcltk. Typing tcltkgrass & from the GRASS xterm prompt while running
GRASS will start the GUI temporarily (i.e., for that session).

If you have an older version of GRASS 5.7 (e.g., early 2004 or before)
and want to add the current GUI, you can download and install it from
my website at <www.public.asu.edu/~cmbarton/grass.htm>. Note, however,
that this GUI contains menu entries for GRASS modules that have been
added since the pre-GUI version.

Hope this helps.
