Cees,

I think you will have better luck with GRASS 5.3 or GRASS 5.7. A number of
problems have been corrected in these more up-to-date versions. You can get
them in binary form from my site and Rich Greenwood (links to Rich on my
site also). You should also install Rich¹s GDAL binaries to give you lots of
import/export options. And get the Spearfish demo data set for 5.3 and 5.7
