[GRASSLIST:2584] how to make a list of districts an air route passes through?

[Beginner's question] Say, how does one make a list of the districts
an air route passes through?  Supposing one has a vector file of the
districts (and their names?), one then makes a line from point A to B
for the route, and then computes a list of districts transected, how?
Maybe v.in.transects has some application here?
