[GRASSLIST:2782] d.what.vect problems

When trying to query a vector layer with d.what.vect, the cpu gets 
maxed and GRASS hangs interminably. If I try and query a second point, 
it causes a broken pipe.

Using 5.7 built from CVS on OSX 10.3.
