[GRASSLIST:4769] processor useage while running interactive commands

Greetings!

I am noticing that when I run interactive command like d.zoom, my processor 
load shoots up until i click the right mouse button to conclude the 
operation... 

any ideas on what might be causing this?

I am using GRASS57-cvs-2004_10_02
