I now have access to several Sun boxes and I will make an official Solaris 
binary package when 5.4.0 is released. To make it easier for you now, I 
have made a quick 5.3 CVS binary package and put it in /pub/users/paulk/grass
on ftp.qub.ac.uk. It includes GDAL and PROJ libraries (not command-line 
tools) but you will need a few Sunfreeware packages to get it going. I'm 
not sure which ones---will try and document it for the official version.
