[GRASSLIST:4644] OGR/GDAL Installation

Hi List.
How can I tell if we have GDAL and OGR installed properly (Grass 5.7)?
I'm asking because I can:

   v.in.ogr/v.out.ogr

but I cannot:

   ogr.info --formats
   v.external
