[GRASSLIST:6393] MySQL and GRASS6.1-CVS on MacOSX

Hi everyone,

just tried to connect to a MySQL database with GRASS 6.1-CVS on mac os 
X 10.3.8 and got:

  echo "select * from v1" | db.select
DBMI-MYSQL driver error: mysql_real_connect() error (1251): Client does 
not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider 
upgrading MySQL client


...any ideas? am i using an old copy of GRASS 6.1-CVS, or is my MySQL 
version (4.1.10-max)
