[GRASSLIST:5649] vector export to GMT->simplify vectors

Greetings!

I have a simple vector that is composed of 2 areas:
http://169.237.35.250/~dylan/gmt/ptuff.png

v.info reports:
| Number of points: 0 Number of areas: 2
| Number of lines: 0 Number of islands: 2
| Number of boundaries: 18 Number of faces: 0
| Number of centroids: 2 Number of kernels: 0

I am interested in exporting the boundaries that represent the 2 areas in this
vector with v.out.asci, for useage in GMT...

However, when i run v.out.ascii format=standard ....

I am left with an ascii file that describes all 18 boundaries that exist in
the vector ptuff.... resulting in a file that is of little use in GMT... see
the result (blue polygon is the problem one...):

Where do all 18 boundaries come from? How can I only export the ones
associated with the 2 areas?

Any ideas?

PS I am using GRASS6

Thanks,
