So I tested r3.in.ascii (grass 6) with the following file:

north: -2776905.18791086
south: -2979805.91572424
east: 12151.81208914
west: -181894.1458072
top: 3.0
bottom: 0.0
rows: 2
cols: 2
levels: 4

0.0 1.0
2.0 3.0

and I received an error:

r3.in.ascii input=/mnt/windows/werk/nuwe_projek/GisRapMyKode/r3 output=r3toets
nv=none type=default precision=default compression=default tiledimension=default 
FATAL ERROR: asciiToG3d: read failed

Any help would be appreciated.  I promise not to post anything else for the next
month.
