Did you try with the last v.surf.rst CVS version? Maybe I'm wrong but  
I think that a new quad-tree index was done for this module. Helena  
Mitasova said so at Laussane. I also took a look into the source and  
saw this new quad-tree index. So, it should be faster than before. 3  
days seem too much time.
