First search the grasslist and grass5 archives. Using r.proj has
been discussed often. Problems similar to your were reported. For me
r.proj works. Maybe you are just missing something. Read first please.
Drop a note if you succeed.

If you still cannot get it to work, describe step-by-step what you are
exactly doing, copy/paste each single command and make sure it is
obvious for the reader which are for input and which for output
location.
