If you're going to use so many Mandriva packages, why not just install 
Mandriva 2006.0, visit http://urpmi-addmedia.org (or, add the contrib medium 
from your local mirror), and:

# urpmi grass

(or, search for grass in the package management tools in Mandriva Control 
Center)
