[GRASS-user] Can't create new location

I am having trouble creating my first location with GRASS. I don't 
understand the technical stuff of the program very well, but after I 
type in the parameters for LOCATION (countries_example) MAPSET 
(PERMANENT) and DATABASE (/users/jamieomealia, etc) and type (esc) 
(enter) I can't get to the next screen. Does anyone know why this is?
