[GRASS-user] Problem with Nviz : first post

Darrel,

It looks like your main problem is getting GRASS and Nviz to work and
also, getting Linux running.

I don't know about Fedora Core but, for all the linux newbies that I
run into I recommend Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com). It's Debian based
and works like a charm. Even on my laptop it worked for the first
time. And also, installing GRASS on Ubuntu is very simple (at least
the 6.0 version, don't know about the 6.1).

I know linux and GRASS ca be very frustrating the first time but once
you learn how to use it, you will just ignore the other software. The
only thing I miss in GRASS is a easy map production facility, that is,
pretty pictures (ps.map does that - I did not learn how to use it, my
fault), but that is already done, as Michael mentioned.

So, I'd say, if linux is your main problem, try other flavors. I
recommend Ubuntu. And GRASS on Ubuntu is easy to install, so that
would overcome your problems.
