[GRASSLIST:469] RE: OGR-generated shapefiles show spikes and outliers in ArcView

I'm using Grass 6.1 cvs on a Dell PC running Ubuntu 5.1. ArcView is run on
the same machine on the Windows XP partition.

I gave the shapefile in question to a fellow using Global Mapper - the
shapefile looks fine. So only ArcView seems to have a problem with it. I
haven't had the chance to document what goes wrong during the editing
process yet - maybe I can get to that today if I get a chance.

To clarify exactly what is wrong, the end nodes of certain vector line
segments get stretched vertically to infinity - ArcView runs out of "zoom"
and you can't see where the lines actually end; almost as if there is no
terminal node on the line segment and ArcView doesn't know what to do with
it.

Are you using a Mac? ie big-endian G5?
ArcView on a PC or VirtualPC?
