watershed pixel

Dear GRASS users,
I would like to get the elevation difference between the watershed pixel
and its closest related river pixel (box pixels are in the same sub-basin).
The watershed pixels and the river pixels should be in one sub-basin,
thus the elevation difference is not be computed based on the river
pixel which is closer but in the another sub-basin.
Also does somebody have and algorithm to flood the floodplain in several
steps with user defined water levels? I would appreciate any hint here.
Thanks a lot,
Rado
